Modern and competitive infrastructure for maritime traffic in the Mediterranean

The port expansion project offered in concession by the Alicante Port Authority to Terminales Marítimas del Sureste (TMS) provides the port with modern and competitive infrastructure, in line with the transport policies promoted by the European Union in the face of growing maritime traffic in the Mediterranean.

Mediterranean Corridor

Terminales Marítimas del Sureste is a destination port for import merchandise (machinery and auxiliary equipment for the footwear industry and agricultural products) coming from Asia and other European cities.

Export goods


Export goods include footwear, marble, textiles and agricultural products destined for Europe, America and North Africa.

Innovative operating model

Management of the set of terminals is carried out through an innovative management model that includes the functions of the property port and the operating port.

Railway connection


The railway terminal, located in the service area attached to dock 21, offers a weekly Alicante-Madrid service and has a platform with a capacity for compositions of up to 500 m and 40,000 TEUs annually in each direction.

Constantly connected terminal

All of the terminal equipment is connected to the control center to ensure quality and guarantee performance in the operations, and terminal users can access the systems through various portals to manage their operations and see the status of the containers.

We want to help you get to know the offering of our multimodal platform, which includes the different port activities, with equipment, management systems and commitment to the application of quality models that we are confident deliver support to the port activities at TMS at the Alicante Port and that we know will be of interest to you for the development of your business.

Because of its privileged location, the Alicante Port has always been related to maritime trade, especially in the Mediterranean Sea. In this regard, many initiatives have been implemented in support of modernizing and increasing the activities of the port.

These initiatives notably include the recent expansion of dock 23 and dock 19 to attend to ships of up to 270 meters in overall length. The railway terminal has also been expanded to attend to railway compositions of up to 750 meters in length.
